Fitness Goals in the New Normal

Social distancing. Limited booking spaces for classes. Strict time allocations for gym work outs. No more high-fives, fist bumps and sweaty post-workout group-fies. Intermittent ads for online classes as you scroll Facebook — sounds familiar? Welcome to the New Normal of the fitness world. 

Three months away from gym was enough to make me eat humble pie on my first few visits back. Three months later, I still feel like I am recovering, slowly but surely, enjoying the process AND progress. How do I plan to ultimately achieve my fitness goals? Here are my top three tips:

1. Embrace online workouts and working out at home. I use this time to try new workouts like Barre and BodyAttack, on my LesMills On Demand app. Gyms like Virgin Active now offer online-only memberships which gives you access to their online classes from the comfort of your own home.

2. Investing in a good personal trainer to make sure my form and techniques are precise. And to make up for the times I take it easy on myself during my online workouts (haha, admit it!). If you happen to be considering one while reading this, drop a DM to @physique_tailor for more enquiries. 

3. Managing stress, ensuring quality sleep to be able to get the most out of my workouts. Sipping a cup of Anxietea and breathing in DREAM (a super relaxing essential oil that will launch soon!) puts me in the most calm and relaxed state.
